The Foxbusters Foxes by FreyFox The Foxbusters Foxes by FreyFox
Hooray, it's a new tribute to a pack of my most favourite cartoon foxes! Furthermore it kind of helped me teach myself how to draw cartoon animals in the first place.

The series was very loosly based on Dick King Smith's novel, and although the chickens were the stars, the foxes certainly stole the show for me. If you've not seen it before, try searching for clips of it on Youtube :)

Oh yeah, and it's a lovely break from anthro art too ^^.

you know, King Voracious was loosely an inspiration for my character Professor Timber wolf. his temperament his evil personality and I view Timber wolf having a creepy voice like Voracious  only with an American accent.

I have heard of this cartoon and I believe it was made by Cosgrove Hall in the late 90s.

I checked out a few episodes on Youtube and I can't get over how cute Todd is, he's pretty much become my instant favorite character. I wanted to hug Todd so badly when I saw the episode Winging It. Poor fella.

There's that King Voracious, that mad King Voracious. Whatif he and Voracity are Disney's Br'er Fox parents-in-law? Their human daughter can be the Redhead from POTC.

I actually remember how I discovered the show. Entirely by accident, as I think I was channel hopping and came across a bit of CITV and they had a cut-out of Evita in the studio, which caught my attention enough for me to seek out the show- I think Follow my Leader was the first one I saw.

My sister actually has the book, and I saw it lying round the house on numerous occasions, though I never made any efforts to actually read it. Funnily enough, I don't think she ever saw the cartoon.

The series is very different from the book. The book is somewhat controversial because the chickens start using their egg bombs to lethal effect (so the book is somewhat anti-fox), whereas the series is completely different in terms of humour, story and setting. The only things they have in character are the name, the setting, and the three chickens Ransome, Sims and Jeffries.

Seems a bit sadistic really if they actually kill the foxes! Still, If I was the one writing it, it probably wouldn't be any better as I'd like to see the foxes win once in a while!

Dick King Smith was a farmer, so he probably might not have been too fond of foxes. If such is the case it lowers my opinion of him, but frankly, I think he is one of the best children's authors and has written some fantastic books.
